SLIPPERY HILL BOYS 10th TO 13th AUGUST

From soulful, close harmony songs to blisteringly fast bluegrass classics The Slippery Hill Boys are a must for all lovers of Americana.

There’s quite a bit of swapping around of instruments – it’s rare to have one highly talented banjo player in a band, let alone two, one of whom doubles as a fine flat picker. Mandolin and bass complete the line-up, with the occasional bit of penny whistle. Magical!

ASTBURY LIVE NATIVITY – 18th, 19th & 20th DECEMBER

One of the most popular events of the year! Join in with the Astbury Live Nativity which takes place on the 18th, 19th and 20th December at 6.30pm.

We will meet at the main entrance to Astbury Church. Following this we walk to the Egerton Arms Hotel to be greeted by the grumpy innkeeper who informs us there is no room at the Inn. We then walk towards the village hall where hopefully, we will see the Angel Gabriel. The on to Glebe Farm where we proceed along the Farm drive we meet some Shepherds. We finish by heading to barn where we will find Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus. We receive a visit from the 3 Wise Men and a finish off with carols and prayers.

Refreshments will be served which include mulled wine, hot chocolate and mince pies ending a very moving experience. The Live Nativity grows in popularity every year and portrays the real meaning of Christmas and for many is the highlight of the Christmas celebrations.
